Chalee’s new favorite word is “PINE CONE”. My Mom has a tree that has the cutest little pine cones on it and Chalee just loves to pick them off. She says pine cone all the time now and point at trees. It is the cutest baby word I have ever heard. She starts by saying really quietly…”Pi Co…Pine Co”. And then she builds up her courage and points at the tree and says “Pine Cone!!” She puts them in her mouth, and I say YUK. So now when we are in the house and I say yuk…she’s says “Pine cone?”

As I mentioned in a previous post, Chalee is little Miss Independant. Here are some adorable pics of her playing in her pool. You can see the process that she goes through to climb in and out. She is getting better at it, but every once in awhile one of her chunky little thighs gets stuck. She was able to go diaper less since it is just her pool, and she seems to like that better. Luckily, she hasn’t peed in the pool…yet. The last few pics are of her getting her Baba from Pops after a long hard swim. The babas are on the way out the door! We are going to be working on switching to sippy cups this week.

Here are pics of Chalee’s first trip to the zoo…as well as our first attempt at pigtails. She was very excited even if she didn’t really get everything. It is very hard to point out a sleeping bear or tiger to a one year old. Looking back at the pictures, not surprising, Chalee seemed to like the giraffes the best. Mommy and Daddy both like the giraffes too. Unfortunately, they don’t like to be petted…or so we’ve been told.

Chalee has had a busy week full of perfecting her walking, trying new foods, and spending time with her Mommy and Daddy. She is getting so brave! Last night she even got out of her swimming pool and back in all by herself. So here are this week’s pictures! Enjoy!

Chalee took her first unassisted steps on May 25th.  4 Big steps right to Grammy.  Since then she has gotten more courageous and is walking in between furniture…just short little jaunts, but she is very proud of herself when she gets where she wants to go.   I love to let her hold on to my finger and walk her around the yard.  Too see how excited she is about her new found freedom is so awesome for us.  By her birthday party, I may not be able to keep up with her.   Hard to believe in just 4 short weeks she will be one.  Where did this year go?

Grammy bought Chalee some Pooh sunglasses…and well I couldn’t resist!

Here are some miscellaneous pics taken on Mother’s Day. We all went out to lunch…Chalee had her first grilled cheese. Mom, Cory and I had to fight her off of the seefood dip. Later on we had playtime, and bath time. It was really great to spend the day with all three generations of the girls!

Chalee had a chance to play with Aunt Pammy’s kitty and Pups this weekend. Marley is so big that I am not sure that she understands that he is a dog…she associates dog with Oscar. A nice lady a kroger gave us a balloon…”because she just has the prettiest eyes”. I swear she can bat those lashes and get perfect strangers to cater to her every whim! I included a few shots of EDDDD the cat…you can only see him, but right behind him Chalee is hot on his tail. When all was said and done the little angel just passed out!

It would appear in some of the pictures that she is not all that fond of the turkey sausage that she is eating…but who knows, it changes from day to day. But as you can see she had a good time rubbing dinner on her face while she sat in her skivies on the deck.
